Lest we forget

100 years ago at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month the guns fell silent, and at the same time on the same day in the same month 100 years later on a cold and rain lashed morning the brethren of Blackpool gathered at the entrance of North Pier to take part in the service of remembrance to be held at the Cenotaph.

Once the dignitaries and public had assembled the rain stopped and just before the last post sounded and the gathered masses fell silent, the sun came out.

After the service the brethren gathered to pay their own respects and lay wreaths.

Comrades and brethren remembered.

Comrades and brethren remembered.
